Abhayangam

In Ayurveda, abhyangam is actually recommended as a daily routine apart from a treatment. Abhyangam is an oil massage having a similar procedure for all cases. Different oils are selected for different individuals depending upon their constitution, the season and also the ailments if the individual is suffering from any.

Shirodhara

In Sanskrit, shiro means “head” and dhara means “flow” therefore shirodhara literally means to receive a continuous stream of warm, medicated liquid onto one’s forehead which creates a brain state very similar to deep meditation. The liquid chosen depends on the patient’s constitution and health disorders.

Leg Massage

In this process, special care is given to the feet. Caring for the feet is also very important to remain healthy. With pada abhyangam, roughness, dryness, fatigue and numbness of the feet are cured. Shiro abhyangam revitalizes the senses, reduces stress thus results in sound sleep and strengthens the hair by reducing baldness.

Kati Basti

Kati basti is an Ayurvedic procedure carried out for the relief of pains in the back regions. Medical pastes are used to form a wall-like structure on the lower back and luke warm herbal oils are poured into this structure. The oil is left in this wall for a certain time period.

Udhavarthanam

Udwartanam is a special body massage using a combination of herbal powders. The specialty of this therapy is that the massage is done in a direction opposite to the hair follicles. This therapy is used to lessen kapha in the body. Udwartanam absorbs fat in the body thus effectively helps in weight loss.

Kizhi

Kizhi is special preparation made of medicinal rice cooked in milk. The bolus for the treatment is dipped into milk mixed with others medicines and used for body massage. Kizhi increases immunity and helps the body develop out of injury and trauma. Muscular pains, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are also treated using this therapy.
